Mr. Lester Hunt’s received his Masters at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, in International Health and Population Policy. He has worked on five continents. He speaks four languages and has traveled to over 61 countries. He has established working relationships with Ministries of Health in nine different countries.
His emergency and disaster experience was gained in countries in turmoil: Bosnia, Cambodia, Rwanda (shortly after the genocide), Ivory Coast (during civil war) and Sudan (on-going crisis). He has worked with fleeing refugees, developed and implemented emergency evacuation plans, has helped build refugee camps, while working in volatile insecure settings.
In the USA, Mr. Hunt has done consulting work with three health departments, the CDC, the United Nations, and UNICEF. His papers have been published by the Demographic Health Survey and USAID.
As a volunteer, Mr. Hunt is currently on the Alexandria Community Emergency Response Team. He is also an active American Red Cross volunteer and former Team Leader for the Alexandria American Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team.
