She is the mother of two sons and a single parent to her 19 year old son in his second year in college. On April 28, 2010, her eldest son Jacob passed away from the H1N1 virus and respiratory complications. She is the founder of The Jacob Foundation that has been established to educate and bring awareness to the importance of protecting individuals from flu viruses through vaccinations. She is the daughter of a retired Air Force pilot Richard McFadden and has lived and traveled throughout Europe and Asia. Sharon lives in Honolulu, Hawaii and teaches special education students with disabilities. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in special education. She has worked in private hospitals as a dual diagnosis counselor with the credentials as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor. Her passion is to help others have a better quality of life.
