Brigadier General Shihab Ali was born at Baghdad, Iraq in 1962. He is currently stationed as Commander of Hurrya Air Force Base, which has the largest air force academy in Iraq.
He graduated from the academy in 1984 where he received his First Flight Instructor Degree (B-2) from the Army flight base in Iraq. Continuing his military career, the brave general also served as Fourth Air Force Base Safety Officer in 1992 and after three years, he became the trainer and security officer of the base.
Aside from being schooled in a military academy where he received his training, Brig. Gen. Ali also received a Human Rights degree in San Remo, Italy.
