Governor Abdulrahman Mustafa Fattah was born in Imam Kasim in Kirkuk province in 1951. He studied and finished his primary and intermediate education in the same area. He got his secondary education from Al Mosala School, in Kirkuk also.
He started his career as a Kirkuk lawyer in 1974 after graduating with honors in College of Law at Baghdad University. His career in legal profession was sidelined in 2003 after he was elected as the provincial governor.
Throughout his tenure in office, Governor Fattah showed dedication to his post, which earned him another term in the office. He was reelected in July 2005 and still is the governor of Kirkuk province.
Governor Fatah, an Iraqi-Kurdish national is married to a civil engineer and has two kids, a boy and a girl. Both kids are studying now.
He belongs to the Muslin-Suni religion.
