Major General Hussein Ali Kamal Ahmedfahmi is the current Deputy Minister of National Intelligence and Interrogation Affairs for the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. A former member of the Iraqi Law Association and Kurdistan Law and the Kurdistan Parliament from 1993 to 2001, he joined the Iraqi Ministry of Interior after the Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
The deputy minister obtained his degree in BA in Legal Sciences from the University of Baghdad (1980-1981). In 1976 to 1977, he attended law school; and in 2008, he earned his masters from the National Defense College.
He was born in 1961 on Sulaymania, Kurdistan Region, Iraq

The current Deputy Minister of National Intelligence and Interrogation Affairs of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, Major General Hussein Ali Kamal Ahmedfahmi, attended law school in 1976 to 1977 and obtained his degree in BA in Legal Sciences from the University of Baghdad in 1980 to 1981. In 1982, he joined and became active in Military service until the following year, 1983. In 1987, he started his legal practice in Sulaimaniya. He was appointed member of the first Kurdistan regional parliament under the Kurdish Democratic Party bloc in 1993. He had since held various posts in the egional parliament: reporter of legal committee from 1993 to 2001; chief of internal committee in 2001; and chief of interrogations of the Kurdistan region security and intelligence. He became the Deputy Minister of Interior for Intelligence Affairs of the Iraqi Federal Government in 2003.
Major General Ahmedfahmi, who recently earned his masters from the National Defense College this year, 2008, has been actively involved in several conferences and courses held in the USA, UK , and other venues outside of Iraq. He has also participated in several official delegations.
